Another example of classic ‘impulse’ buy behaviour. Jason and I were visiting Meridien Modena, the Ferrari official dealer based in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, on a wet Sunday after filming. Quite unexpectedly, this silver 360 CS was gleaming under the diffused overhead lights. And it looks sensational!

I’ve never been a big fan of the Challenge Stradale. They’re usually Rosso Corsa with a factory stripe, you were pretty much guaranteed to see one at every car show. They didn't excite me, mainly because I didn’t know much about them. And I hadn’t heard one.

But in silver, RHD, and with the factory stripe - it is a real show-stopper, and I completely changed my opinion in 5 seconds. The stance of the thing, the way it looks like it’s perpetually hunched forward ready to race off the line. Those alloys, the exposed engine bay, the carbon wingmirrors, those racing seats…

I bought it on the spot.

And I’ve since then I’ve done six thousand miles, including a trip to Scotland for the SupercarDriver Tartan Florio, and a track day at Angelsey. The 360 CS is one of the true Ferrari greats - a legend, and if you’re lucky to own one, you will never forget it. Perfect steering, incredible poise, and of course - THE GREATEST ENGINE SOUND OF ANY MODERN FERRARI!
